    Located at the junction of US Highway 81/287 and Highway 380, in the center of Wise County, Decatur is just 45 minutes from the DFW

    Step back in time with a visit to historic Downtown Decatur and see the beautiful James Riley Gordon, 1896 Wise County Courthouse. A Texas Main Street city since 1994, Decatur enjoys a wonderful mix of antique shops, restaurants and personal services in the heart of downtown. The newly opened Decatur Visitors Center, located in the historic 1939, WPA Post Office building is just one block from the square.

    While you’re in town you won’t want to miss the Wise County Heritage Museum and Lost Battalion Room, the Wise County Veterans Park and other historic sites.

    The Caddo and LBJ National Grasslands are a haven for hunting, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, camping, and bird watching and recreate the open nature of the Post Oak Savanna that original pioneers encountered in North Texas.
