Sherman

Big-city sophistication and a country state of mind: Sherman’s unique combination of urban amenities and leisurely pace of life make it an ideal destination. It’s just one hour north of downtown Dallas, which makes it close enough to get here, yet far enough to get away, spend the night, and enjoy the good life Lone-Star style!

Sherman’s quaint downtown is the perfect place for antiquing, unique retail shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat. Sherman’s Town Center boasts plenty of retail and eateries, with all the hustle-and-bustle of a burgeoning city. With every season come events and attractions to take pleasure in: Summer brings the Hot Summer Nights concert series on the Municipal Lawn, and boating and fishing at Lake Texoma. The Sherman Arts Festival ushers in the fall with much enthusiasm, and winter just wouldn’t be the same without the Christmas Parade and Snowflake Festival. In the springtime, blooms and buzzing wildlife at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge invite all ages to come out and play!

The beautifully restored Kidd-Key Auditorium is host to the Community Series, a concert series including opera arias, chamber music, pop performances, and the Sherman Symphony Orchestra. Excellent theater performances for all ages are put on by the Sherman Community Players and Theatricks year-round.
