All members of the DFW Sports Alliance share a purpose in attracting sports events, meetings, and sports related travel to the greater Dallas Fort Worth metro area. For sports visitors and planners, Convention and Visitors Bureaus (“CVB”) and Sports Commissions are like a key to the city. As an unbiased resource we exist to serve as a broker or an official point of contact for sporting events, conventions and meeting planners, fans and visitors. Our common objective is to recruit, retain and grow professional, collegiate and amateur sports.
Convention & visitor bureaus are not-for-profit organizations charged with representing a specific destination and helping the long-term development of communities through travel and tourism strategy. In some cities a CVB’s sports division or their Sports Commission are one in the same. CVBs and Sports Commissions are the official destination marketing organizations for their respective communities. We are often affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce, municipality, school districts and local universities.
