When entering Cleburne from the west on State Highway 67 you witness the past brought back to life. The Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum is on the west bank of Lake Pat Cleburne and is fast becoming the premier tourist attraction in this area. As you enter the outdoor museum, you are greeted by Indian tepees and the largest life-sized silhouette cattle drive in the world. Also on the grounds is the oldest log Courthouse in Texas. This historic old building, built in 1854, has been restored and is back in the place of its origin at Wardville, the first county seat of Johnson County. It is flanked by an old windmill to the south and a restored stagecoach to the north. (Stage used in several John Wayne movies).
